How to make French Toast & Banana Rolls.


  • 2 slices sandwich bread

  • 1 egg

  • 2/5 cup milk

  • 1 banana

  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tspn water

  • 3 1/3 tbsp heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • confectioners’s sugar

  • walnuts, chopped

  • vanilla ice cream

Let’s get Cooking…

  1. Mix together the milk and egg. Flatten out your sandwich bread with a rolling pin. Soak the bread in the mixture overnight.

  2. Slice the banana in half. Pour sugar onto your frying pan in two mounds. Place your banana halves onto the sugar mounds. Sprinkle additional sugar on top. Cook on medium heat until banana caramelizes nicely on both sides.

  3. Roll up the caramelized bananas in the soaked bread.

  4. In a saucepan, combine 2 tbsp sugar with the water and heat over medium heat until sugar has dissolved completely. Once the edges start to turn lightly brown, immediately add in the cream and mix until combined.

  5. In a heated frying pan, melt some butter. Cook the soaked bread rolls until golden brown.

  6. Serve hot with a drizzle of confectioners’s sugar, chopped walnuts, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
